Aries III - decan talisman

Aries III - decan talisman

Aries III • The Burning Rose • Lord of Completion

The final decan of Aries is a unifying force of art, beauty and passion after the self determination and sovereignty found in Aries I and II. Austin Coppock calls Aries III the Burning Rose, the power of art to overcome hostility. Venus and Jupiter have benefic influence here as the decans co-rulers but, being in Mars’ domain, their gifts are bound to martial purposes.

The rose is where soft petal meets cutting thorn, where beauty meets blood and where art is a weapon of its own. Both art and battle have the power to be unifying forces. Those with placements here have the ability to charm and captivate an audience, bringing people together through shared passion. But as Coppock notes, bonds built on passion, whether through art or combat, require intensity to endure.

In multiple source texts, the image given for this face is a figure who “wishes to do good, but cannot”.  And with Eros/Cupid - deities of desire, love and passion - presiding over Aries III, it is reiterated through myth that though our desire for connection and passion is a force of good, intention alone doesn’t forge a desired result. Kyra Ryberg likens this to Cupid enforcing love through shooting his arrow, and how rarely his intention goes to plan. The intensity of this Decan is powerful, moving and connective - worthy of celebration - but what follows the fire when it inevitably turns to embers?

The tarot card for Aries III is 4 of Wands. A card of connection, commitment and celebration - the wedding or the consecration of the sovereign from Aries II. It’s often made explicit that this is the wedding and not the marriage, it is the threshold of commitment and connection but not the road that lies ahead.

T. Susan Chang ties this decan and card to Rivendell, a place of refuge on the journey to Mordor. Even further, Rivendell is where the formation of the fellowship takes place, an impassioned group of strangers bind together in common purpose and are willing to go to war for it.

muddied hands jewellery

Handcrafted, Always

Each piece is designed and lovingly crafted by myself, Daisy, in the Blue Mountains, NSW. With each purchase you are supporting my ability to continue making art in this way.

Conciously Sourced, Traceable Stones

Conciously sourced, traceable stones means ethical mining and living-wage paid workers. Unfortunately, there are no current international standards for mining rocks and gemstones and greenwashing has become increasingly popular in the industry. I moved away from the phrasing
"ethically sourced" for this reason.

I primarily source my stones from small lapidary artists who have mined the rock themselves or can trace who did.

Recycled Silver and Gold

My metal suppliers provide recycled silver and gold

I take part in the cycle by recycling all my scrap metal

Solid Metals

I explicitly work with solid metals, making each piece an heirloom to last a lifetime - and beyond.

The price of my art is reflective of the quality of materials I use.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

All of my packaging is eco-friendly with the majority of it being recyclable

Handcrafters Manufacturing Warranty

I take care to test all pieces for quality assurance. It's important to me that I create jewellery that can live many lifetimes.

In the event that there are structural issues within 6 months of your order and it is clearly a quality fault, I will happily repair the piece or exchange where possible.
