In the final decan of Gemini we find polarity at its culmination. Here, opposing forces in their essential forms cannot wholly coexist.
The Sun and Saturn, co-rulers of Gemini III, oppose one another in traditional domicile rulership. When light and dark - day and night - are at their precipice, there is no grey or dusk to be found, only a fundamental discord between the two. Wrought with extremes, Gemini III’s path to unity requires difficult decision making that innately bears consequence.
We have an abundance of myths that tell a story of twins where one of two meet their death. The Dioscuri, Castor and Pollux, are the twins represented in the constellation of Gemini. When Castor dies, Pollux asks Zeus to share his gift of immortality with his brother and while it is granted, the Fates require the twins to alternate their days in Olympus and Hades. Austin Coppock reflects on their story and the death of one, saying “the polarity has been mitigated and a dynamic unity achieved”.
Where the Sun and Saturn come together is in their desire for consistent, steady and long-term dedication. When Gemini III placements decidedly commit to learning something, they have the ability to follow the road to mastery: whether that be in service to intellectual pursuits or their craft.
Praxidike, the goddess of exacting justice, is the presiding deity over Gemini III. In the image of the high judge, she offers Saturnian responsibility and wisdom.
As the executioner, she wields the blade. She oversees life or death decisions and bears the weight of justice. The stakes are high, or at least feel that way for Gemini III placements.
The tarot card associated with this face is the 10 of swords. Depicted is a figure on the ground face down with ten swords in their back, their hand signing the hierophant’s benediction as if to recognise this difficult position as holy rite.

In regard to Gemini III, Austin Coppock refers to day and night as the splitting of time. This imagery is what inspired my Gem III talisman.

Conciously sourced, traceable stones means ethical mining and living-wage paid workers. Unfortunately, there are no current international standards for mining rocks and gemstones and greenwashing has become increasingly popular in the industry. I moved away from the phrasing
"ethically sourced" for this reason.
I primarily source my stones from small lapidary artists who have mined the rock themselves or can trace who did.
