Taurus II
Taurus II
Taurus II • A Linga-Yoni • Lord of Success
In his 16th century works, Agrippa denotes the image of the second decan of Taurus as a naked man holding a key that gives power, nobility and domain over others. Austin Coppock refers to the image of the key as the key to success itself but reframes success as the marriage of discipline and passion. Taurus II is a decan of balance, abundance and generative union: the fertilisation of land and the harvest that follows, the key and lock that open the door to beyond. With abundance comes stability, and here we find the fixed decan of the fixed earth sign.
Timing is intrinsic to this face. The Horae or “Hours” are the presiding deities of Taurus II. They are guardians of the gates to Olympus, responsible for the turning of seasons, time and the cycles of all things. Placements in this decan do well to be guided by the notion that there is a time for everything. Attuning to cyclical time is a profound way to reap an abundant harvest.
Multiple sources speak to the ripeness of a moment, to seed both earth and womb we have to be in tune with the moment of a cycle (the seasons/the ovulation window). Taurus II is supported by the Horai in its ability to find and meet these moments.
This attunement to cycles is further supported by the co-rulers of the decan; the moon and mercury. As the two fastest moving planets, the moon is the representative of cyclical time and, as Kyra Ryberg puts it, mercury in their retrograde cycle teaches us the value of slowing down to move forward.
The images for this face are full of euphemisms, the key being one of them. Beyond sex, there is a sensuality to this decan. Abundance endows us with stability, and stability grants more spaciousness for our sensuality.
The tarot card for this decan is the 6 of Pentacles which depicts a benevolent man sharing his resources with others. Balance is depicted in the generosity of someone sharing their resources, knowledge and success. The movement from Taurus I to II is a reminder that in this life we will all occupy positions of both giver & receiver.

muddied hands jewellery
Handcrafted, Always
Each piece is designed and lovingly crafted by myself, Daisy, in the Blue Mountains, NSW. With each purchase you are supporting my ability to continue making art in this way.
Conciously Sourced, Traceable Stones
Conciously sourced, traceable stones means ethical mining and living-wage paid workers. Unfortunately, there are no current international standards for mining rocks and gemstones and greenwashing has become increasingly popular in the industry. I moved away from the phrasing
"ethically sourced" for this reason.
I primarily source my stones from small lapidary artists who have mined the rock themselves or can trace who did.
Recycled Silver and Gold
My metal suppliers provide recycled silver and gold
I take part in the cycle by recycling all my scrap metal
Solid Metals
I explicitly work with solid metals, making each piece an heirloom to last a lifetime - and beyond.
The price of my art is reflective of the quality of materials I use.
Eco-Friendly Packaging
All of my packaging is eco-friendly with the majority of it being recyclable
Handcrafters Manufacturing Warranty
I take care to test all pieces for quality assurance. It's important to me that I create jewellery that can live many lifetimes.
In the event that there are structural issues within 6 months of your order and it is clearly a quality fault, I will happily repair the piece or exchange where possible.
